Today, we head over to Epcot for a walk around the 2019 Flower and Garden Festival.
The festival runs from early March through the end of May so you still have a time to check it out if you are visiting WDW in the next few weeks.
This post is going to be primarily photo based, with limited commentary on my part. I did not partake in any seminars, nor did I order food from any of the the booths. If you are looking for reviews of the various food items offered at the festival, I suggest heading over to Easy WDW where Josh has reviews of all the individual food booths.
While eating is obviously a big part of the appeal at the Food & Wine festival, it is far less imperative to the enjoyment of the other festivals. Here, the main draw is the gorgeous visuals throughout the park thanks to Disney’s amazing horticulturists!
From the awesome topiary, to the general abundance of plantings throughout the park, Epcot looks absolutely gorgeous this time of year! So let’s take a walk around and enjoy the sights!
Nice to see Daisy getting some love in a prime display spot! I guess her name works in her favor here!
Unrelated to the festival, but Florida has the best clouds!
And now one of the true highlights of the festival, the butterfly garden!
Moving on to the east side of Future World…
Buzz Lightyear has appeared in front of Mission Space in past years. This year, he over near Woody and Bo Peep for a Toy Story 4 display, allowing Stitch to grab this spot. Despite his subpar attraction previously offered at MK, I am still a big fan of Stitch in general. He straight up steals the show in A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas!
Over to World Showcase we go!
As usual, Donald is a star! He is featured in two of my favorite topiary in the park!
Love seeing the 3 Caballeros continue to get some love!
China had mini topiary for each of the 12 animals represented in the Chinese calendar! They were all really neat if you ask me!
Here is a tiger made of corn… and it’s awesome!
And last but not least, the dragon!
The Lion King scene above is a staple of the festival every year and seems to be a favorite of most guests. It always seems to have a large group of people around it snapping photos!
The model train is decked out nicely for the festivities!
In previous years, Lady and the Tramp where on the other side of the walkway along the outer building of the Italy pavilion. This year they have a very scenic spot behind across the canal, behind a gondola.
The “Garden Rocks” musical guest was Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles. Felder was a co-lead guitarist in the Eagles for over 30 years and he absolutely killed it here! Really great show!
Continuing on to Japan, several Bonsai trees were on display.
The construction wall seen above is for the new signature dining option coming to the pavilion.
After snapping this photo in Morocco, my camera battery died. I had unfortunately lost both of my backup battery’s earlier in the trip (a story for another time), so the rest of the photos are going to be from my iPhone XR.
Anytime we get more of anything Muppet related, I’m a happy camper!
I did take a few photos of the UK and Canada pavilions back in late Feb, right before Flower and Garden started. I’m going to throw them in here since they are pretty much unchanged from then.
Back to the iPhone…
The newest iPhone model cameras are very impressive for what they are! I used to recommend the Sony RX100 as the top point and shoot on the market, however the iPhones have surpassed it in the past year or so.
That will wrap things up for now. We continue to be huge fans of the Flower and Garden Festival and can’t wait to visit again next year!
Thanks for reading and bye for now!
